Western Pennsylvania Regional Data Center
Internal Dataset

UID: 85

Description

The Western Pennsylvania Regional Data Center (WPRDC) hosts open data from area academic institutions, non-profit organizations, and local governments, including the City of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County. Health-related datasets include information on county hospitals and primary healthcare facilities; de-identified insurance data for the prevalence of several chronic conditions; housing tenure and vacancy information for county properties; and a variety of other datasets largely focused on public health topics. Other datasets of potential interest include police blotter logs, land use information, and traffic data.

Data are available in a variety of formats depending on the data type: most frequently CSV for tabular data, and multiple ArcGIS-compatible formats for GIS data. Data records note the contact information for a dataset expert and the date of its last update when applicable.

In the "Tools" section, the WPRDC has a number of visualizations and interactive tools. This includes several dashboards related to COVID-19, such as a map of free food distribution sites and a portal to daily updates about Allegheny County coronavirus cases, test results, hospitalizations, and deaths.
